the Plan

Historic Old City Hall deserves our honor; Jefferson City needs its heritage center. We are going to give it to them.

When we set out to revitalize our building’s past, the possibilities seemed endless; the ideas unbelievable. And with our building’s past restored in the future, we are bringing a whole flurry of new ideas to our community—a heritage center; lodge; event center; restaurant; donut/coffee shop and whatever else our imagination can bring.

This is just the beginning of an incredible adventure that will change our city forever!

Heritage Center at Mossy Creek & Visitor Center

Within the walls of Historic Old City Hall, the Heritage Center at Mossy Creek will tell the rich, beautiful tale of the Mossy Creek settlement in 1788. Relive the wonder of our forefather’s Appalachian living; learn about our beloved communities and their roots. There are endless, wonderful stories to hear from our people right here in Jefferson County. The Heritage Center at Mossy Creek is Coming Soon!

Restaurant

Patriot Wood Fired Pizza

Patriot Wood Fired Pizza has served our community the best pizza since 2017 from their food truck complete with a wood fired brick oven. Voted “Best Pizza in Jefferson County 2022 & 2024”, Patriot Wood Fired Pizza is bringing an artisan open kitchen/dining experience to Jefferson City, TN.

Who doesn’t love donuts?
Who doesn’t love the best tasting, wildest donuts in all of the Jefferson/Hamblen area?

Well, Knead Donuts is bringing an outpost to Jefferson County and we are helping them. Indulge in the most decadent, original donuts your tastebuds have ever met.

The Lodge

at Old City Hall

Wouldn’t it be amazing if our community had a place to lodge that they could be proud of, right in the heart of Historic Downtown? That’s the question we posed ourselves, and immediately answered when we saw the possibilities of our upstairs in Historic Old City Hall. Our goal is to revitalize and restore the glory of a building frozen in time. The Lodge is NOW OPEN!

Imagine a room from out of its time; Mid-Century Modern, Victorian, Contemporary. Now envision it with all the luxury and comfort you desire. The Lodge at Old City Hall creates an atmosphere and experience like you’ve never encountered. Anyone can stay in a mere hotel room. But at The Lodge, you can sleep in a queen-sized bed from the 1800s; gaze at Historic Downtown while sipping your favorite local coffee; and relax and dream again in a luxurious antique chair by the fire. Each room at The Lodge includes distinct colors to soothe and restore; local hand-crafted furniture; and the attention and love you’d expect from Historic Old City Hall at Mossy Creek.

Event Center

The 1868

In the year 1868, a Masonic Lodge and girls’ school was built in Mossy Creek at the cornerstone of its downtown, and years later, would attach what we now know as the Historic Old City Hall building.

Now, it is being restored into a modern, elegant sanctuary, infused with history, brimming in creativity, and fine-tuned to make your event spectacular. Transform The 1868 into your bridal dream, or turn it into the greatest family reunion you’ve ever organized, or host a festive evening soiree with your friends!

The 1868 event center will host whatever gathering you need, from a business presentation to a glamourous wedding. The event space our community has been waiting for is finally on the way! The 1868 event center is Coming Soon!
